If you didn’t know already, I adore color; more specifically I really enjoy all hues and shades of purple and I really like bubblegum pink. Thankfully 2020 will be over soon but what fashion trends will be popular in 2021? Who What Wear ‘s article 10 Trends We’re Tired of and 10 We’ll Be Wearing in 2021 Instead got me thinking and styling.

Instead of toning down the bubblegum pink with a neutral I added purple and lavender to this outfit. I went for a rich, indulgent Auntie vibe instead of being chic and smart.

The Color Purple

Pantone announced Ultraviolet as the color of the year for 2018. Ultraviolet is a very intense shade which has muted into a light, feminine, and very wearable color for 2019-millennial purple. Let’s add bubblgum pink and this is my outfit in this post. Here is a post where I first play with this color palette.

Bubblegum Pink and my Youth

Bubblegum pink is such a feminine and nostalgic color. Who remembers reeling out inches of Hubba Bubba in the circular plastic packaging? I would chew a huge wad of the gum until it hurt my jaw. Bubblegum pink is a colour from my youth and it is fresh and new in my adulthood.

Staples vs Trends
