Texture, a Print & a Basic: My Styling Formula
Will I ever get tired of animal print?! Based on my post here and here it is a blissful love affair. As much as all leather looks are on trend, good quality faux leather pieces werk! I have a tendency to gravitate towards statement pieces and I am now focusing on staples like a camel coat. I also love color like this. Texture, a print & a basic is my formula for styling outfits.
Inexpensive Basics
A turtle neck or a mock neck in a neutral like grey, black, beige can an make your outfit chic and smart. One of my favorite places to get inexpensive basics is boohoo. I have a complicated relationship with boohoo that I explore more in depth here. For too long I took basics for granted and focused on being dramatic and colourful. As I get older and more sensible, I am trying to avoid one-wear clothing despite the fact that I love bold pieces. It is important to build your wardrobe around classics and basics and layer a foundation with trend pieces.
