The last few days of November

The way this year is going, many people probably wish that they could be gone until November. This year, and given how unpredictable it is, we may have more surprises in store for us in December. This the fastest as well as longest year ever. Here I discuss how 2019 was for me.

2020 timeline

In January, I quit my job

In February, I started a new job.

March is my birthday month. A few days before my birthday we go into lockdown!

In April, my focus is on my physical and mental health. I am eating better and exercising to avoid gaining weight and accept this new reality.

In May, a succession of people try to re enter my life. George Floyd protests begin and racial injustice hits a tipping point.

In June, Black women’s experiences with brands, in corporate settings and in society in general are given attention. Finally my experiences as a black woman are now validated. I talk a bit about how I felt in June with this post.

In July, social media is very political and we are slammed with videos and images of violence against black bodies. I discover that I actually enjoy nature and the sun is therapeutic for me.

In August, the summer is in full swing but yet it is still very heavy with Covid-19.

In September, my nephew celebrates his 10th birthday.

In October, I experience some of the most growth and learning professionally.

In November, I am flat out tired. Trump loses the election.

December is loading shortly.

The Rest of the Year

The challenges, the expectations, the hurdles and the triumphs-2020 is quite the year but hopefully we can get through this!
